Well what an eventful day.
We started off with Candy on display for the NBN link to the Today show. So had to be at breakfast early. It was a quick bite on the run as we were selling cupcakes at The Village Hot Bake in Dubbo. The local radio station was also there with give-aways. Bill had kindly donated 200 cupckes to us to be sold for Variety, the Children's Charity. It was lots of fun with the locals - sold some cupcakes to Bashers for $10 ea.
We were a little late leaving there so headed straight to the lunch stop. Had a pit stop at Warren to see Jacquie and sell some morre cupcakes. Then on to Hadden Rigg.
Lunch was in the shearing shed. Then all the fun began - we are feeling like seasoned Bashers. We did a major que jump, the cars were only centimetres from each other. Some other new Bashers came up to us later and asked how many bashes we'd been on. They were surprised when we admitted that we were also first time bashers. Our air horns were used heaps to day as it seems the person who makes the most noise wins.
We then headed onto a narrow dusty road that wove through barren paddocks, occasionally we came across cattle on the sides of the road. After about 30 km we came across a couple of bashers on the side of the road, this we saw as an opportunity to sell some remaining cupcakes. It turned out to be a rather large stop as the cupcakes were very popular - to the point that the helicopter even made a landing to get cupcakes. We learnt a very important lesson at the stop - it could have cost us a lot of money. Not to leave your keys in the car as other Bashers will take them then demand money for their return.
We also had a sad incident at that stop where a fellow basher ran over an innocnet cupcake. It was brought to us in a body bag, so we carefully trandsported it inot town where the local hospital was able to supply an appropriate size coffin for it. Many witnesses told us who the culprit was. The case is now in the Bash Masters hands for an appropriate sentence.
After the stop we had another 120km of the same - dust so thick that you could not see the car infront. The trip was well driven by Brenda - we just had one fish tail in the thick dust. The radios were very useful on this part of the journey.
Arriving in Brewarrina we found our accommodation at the Ambulance Station and was about to move Candy for her evening bath when we discovered she would not start. We were given a ride to tea where several other Bashers were keen to know if we had pursued charges for the culprit of the Cupcake killing. We had to produce our evidence to the officials.
After tea a couple of gems came and found the problem with Candy and were able to fix her - we were really worried that she had done a starter motor.
Tomorrow we start our school visits.
It is an amazing experience, everyone is so friendly.

Dear Miss Cockburn,
I have just looked at the blog page and looked at the pictures you have taken. The picture of the crew was funny and they looked like really nice people! The roads you are driving on are really good roads for sliding and skidding. And have driven through any big puddles(if it has been raining)?
