Day9

Well another interesting and fun day. IT was so hot, dry and dusty that today we arrived in down town Boloorooa absotultely filthy.
We set off from behind the arch and headed straight out of town on Black Top for about 100 km.
It was then into the dirt. We came across some Aboriginals living out in the bush when we stopped at a petrol stop - not a petrol station as we know them to be. Once we all started giving out things the numbers increased dramatically.
There was a small fishing competition in the river where they had set up tin fish with magnetic hooks. We caught some fish!
There were several cars on the side of the road with broken axels, diffs etc. So today took its toll on a couple more cars. We had at least 2 river crossings which were a bit of fun and also crossed the border into the Northern territory! we are seeing more hills now and vegetation. lots of amazing ant hill sculptures too!
Candy is performing just fine.
We sailed inot town aobut 5 pm which for us was early.
We had tea and it is now an early night ready for a big day tomorrow!

Congratulations on making it to the Northen Territory. It is great to know that Candy is performing well. Must be those great mechanics who worked on it before you started! Enjoy the rest of the trip, including the dust and heat! Ruth

Dear Miss Cockburn,

By the time you will get back from the trip Candy will look so old! It must of been exciting when you spotted some black people. The days have been flying passed so you have to enjoy the rest of the trip while it lasts .

daveruth-daveruthHey Miss Robyn & Miss Brenda !!.

Congratulations on making it to the Final Zone { The NT> ] Another couple days or so & it will be "all over". You will then be able to have a good HOT SHOWER !
I always knew you could make it to the END !I was never worried about you because I knew of your mechanical Knowledge and ability !!

I always knew if you got lost you'd be found.

I am sure you knew that any concerns you noticed in me before you left regarding your ability was only a "scharade".!!

I knew my daughter could overcome any obstacles by FAIR MEANS OR FOUL !!. And Robyn has the ability to convince anybody that black was white.!!

Stand TALL girls You've done a GREAT JOB.

LUV YA MUM & DAD xx

Hey Girls!
You truly are amazing!! Wonderful to read your exploits every day! You seem to be having it easy compared to some of those on the Bash. What a grest car you have, or is it that you have found rally driving to be your true calling? (hope not!). We miss you at school, Brenda, and are looking forward to hearing ALL your stories of the wonderful adventure. How will you ever settle back to 'normal life' after this?
Luv ya lots
