Day 4

Today started off with breakfast at Thagomindah, where we met up with a few of the children and left the gifts that Grade 6 had prepared. They were very impressed with the effort that had been put into the gifts.
It was then a quick departure on a secret mission. We had to leave the general Bash route and go 'black top'. It was actually a nice change to the dusty, rough roads of yesterday.
The film crew were doing a live telecast on chanel 10 at 11 am. They invited the major sponsor team NRMA and then two novel teams The Bush Doctors and the Cupcake Girls.
We followed in convoy until there was mobile service. As soon as we got into service our phones went crazy. We set up the cars and then shared how we had each vecome involved in Variety.
After the telecast we set off for lunch then onto Charleville. We went to the check point to sell the Cupcakes that we had recieved in Thaga that morning.
It was then tea and a show with Super Hubert and some of the local bands.
Today we saw emus on the side of the road, and a wild boar.
The days have been stunning the red dust contrasted with the blue sky. In the car it gets very hot.
Once again another exciting day on the bash.
At tea we met up with our Bash friends - some Bashers are starting to get cabin fever and wanting to do some car hopping.

What fun you two seem to be having! I'm so envious - wish I could be there too! Congrats on your publicity spots and fund raising success. You are an inspiration to many! I'll be sharing this with my students here in Oregon!
Keep on rolling!!! And hope the petrol tank works better!

Well done, girls, for getting to Charleville. You do us proud! Wish we were there to cheer you on in person.
Do you have to drive all that way back again?
Keep up the good work!

Well. The things somegirls do to get a KICK when there's NO MAN in their life.!! Are there any more MUST DO things you need to tick off before you can settle down to a NORMAL life style ?
I have been sitting by the phone expecting some desperate phone call like ,Car Rolled or Blown Up Engine Need Help !! But that hasn't happened . CONGRATULATIONS to you both , We're proud of you. This suggestion of "Car Hopping" is a bit of a worry ! Particularly with Robyn ! Keep her calmed down Brenda.! Keep the comments and 'pics' coming , they're great You seem to rate fairly high on the popularity scale on TV Most times we can see you. Continue to have fun Love MUM & DAD. xx

Dear Miss Cockburn,

Today when we went into class Mrs Achland showed us a tape of the news talking about the cupcake girls we were so excited!! So we watched it and saw you in the background playing with these cavemen well i think they were but you were playing Cricket or a bating game when the ball was a cupcake. But it was really good to know that there was a school that was announced which was our school but other than that it was so cool. Not many people at all that a kids see there teacher on TV helping helpless kids it is just so exciting! As Emily said i can not believe that 4 DAYS have already passed! We all miss you very very much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Miss Cockburn,

I love the car Candy, when the class watched the video i wished that i was there as well i have always wanted to drive a fancy car with lots of other people i know on the dirt roads. I will always remember this event and it would be so funny if the person who is the person who makes the cupcakes and sells them and does everything about cupcakes was allergic to cake and cupcakes!!!

Hi Brenda,
Is great to see how you are going each day- well done and sounds like you are both very popular! Although we haven't seen you on the news. Have you met a Neil in a Rentquip car? He is a local and we have known him for years- I saw him in Bowral last Friday. Say hi to him from us and hi to you too.
Happy driving.
Luv from Kim, Nate and Lily (Simonds nee Rogers!)
